Your Canada holiday starts with a departure from London Heathrow on an Air Canada flight to Montreal . O­n arrival, transfer to your hotel by private sedan. The rest of your day is at leisure. Your luxurious hotel is situated in old Montreal.

Days 2-3
Montreal
Enjoy the included river rafting and Discoverer's cruise on the St. Lawrence. Montreal, situated o­n an island in the St Lawrence River, has been referred to as the ‘Paris of North America’, its history a rich backdrop to its vibrant multicultural life. Montreal has numerous festivals, beautiful botanic gardens, street fairs and innumerable terrace cafés where locals and visitors alike gather to socialize. The lookout o­n top of Mount Royal presents a superb panorama of the city and the Underground City, linking many buildings and malls, is a shopper's paradise

ST. LAWRENCE RIVER RAFTING (2 hours and 15 minutes)
River rafting o­n the St. Lawrence River, 15 minutes from downtown Montreal, offers two types of excursions. The first option is a leisurely-paced excursion o­n the tranquil waters of the river giving you time to view the scenery around you with some rapids. The second option is for those who want to experience faster-flowing currents. A descent through the main channel of the river offers a thrilling rollercoaster ride. Each trip includes guide, life jacket, helmet and paddle. Complimentary shuttle service from Montreal Infotouriste Centre to the base is available. (Level I-III)

THE DISCOVERER'S CRUISE (1.5 hours)

Day 4
Montreal - Quebec City (159 miles)
After collecting your hire car travel along the northern shore of the St Lawrence.Your route takes you further into the French-speaking province of Quebec. Quebec City, located o­n a spectacular promontory that towers above the St Lawrence, is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Days 5-6
Quebec City
Quebec City is the capital of the province of Quebec and the only walled city in North America. During your stay enjoy two included excursions. Full of historic old world charm and with a wonderful “joie de vivre” atmosphere, the city is located o­n the north shore of the St Lawrence River. Impressive views of the old port and city can be had from the Old Port Interpretation Centre. Visit the Old Fort, or take a horse drawn carriage ride down the cobbled streets of Old Quebec City with its quaint shops, bistros, and market squares.

CRUISE THE ST. LAWRENCE (1.5 hour cruise)
Enjoy sightseeing Canada's old city from the decks of a cruise boat.

Day 7
Quebec City – Tadoussac (135 miles)
Continue your exploration of Quebec Province today as you drive north east to Tadoussac. Perhaps break your journey at the artist village of Baie-St. Paul , the gateway to two national parks.

Day 8
Tadoussac - Whalewatching and Black Bear observation
A whale-watching cruise from Tadoussac to see finback and beluga whales is included today. This afternoon drive to nearby Sacre-Coeur for a guided walking tour to observe black bears.

WHALEWATCHING CRUISE
Aboard cruise ship, the Dufour family invites you to join them for a whalewatching cruise o­n the St. Lawrence River at the mouth of the Saguenay River.

BLACK BEAR OBSERVATION
This guided walking tour offers a chance to observe some of the animals common to the area such as black bears and the occasional beaver and wolf. Watch them in their natural environment as your guide offers commentary o­n specific habitat needs and behavioral traits. Participants o­n this tour have a 90% chance of seeing wildlife, and if not, are invited back at no cost the following day (if tour is available). Minimum age 5

Day 9
Tadoussac – Carleton (309 miles, including the ferry crossing)
Take a ferry to the south shore and drive into the Gaspe Peninsula , where the imposing Appalachian mountain chain approaches the sea to create a dramatic landscape of rugged mountains and islands, sheltered coves and picturesque fishing villages.

Day 10
Carleton – Perce (125 miles)
Continue along the coast to the village of Perce with its magnificent rock standing defiantly against the sea. Enjoy an included boat trip around the bay and rock itself to the natural bird sanctuary of Bonaventure Island , home to North America 's largest gannet community. As you circle the island, witness the spectacle of over 50,000 birds nesting o­n the island's 300-foot cliffs.

Day 11
Perce
Discover Perce and the surrounding area. Explore this picturesque fishing community or meander across the cliff-tops o­n o­ne of the several walks that give superb views across the bay and harbour.

EXCURSION AROUND PERCE ROCK AND BONAVENTURE ISLAND (1 hour or 3 hours)
Departing from main wharf in Percé
You are invited to join a discovery cruise of the majestic Percé Rock and the seabird sanctuary o­n Bonaventure Island. The cruise boats allow you to get up close to the rock and the island to admire the scenic beauty and observe the fascinating wildlife. You will have the opportunity to visit Bonaventure Island and experience the 150,000 birds from up close. o­ne hour if cruise o­nly. Three hours if cruise is coupled with a Bonaventure Island visit. Park fee must be purchased if disembarking o­n the island (approx. $5)

Day 12-13
Perce – Sainte Anne Des Monts (220 miles)
Your route today takes you around the northern tip of the Gaspe Peninsula . This magnificent road is surrounded by deep blue sea and steep mountains and is complimented by wonderful views across the Gulf of St. Lawrence . You’ll cross innumerable salmon rivers, as well as the imposing salmon migratory pass in Riviere-La-Madeleine before heading inland to the Gaspesie Provincial Park for your overnight stay.

Day 14
Sainte Anne Des Monts – Rimouski (160 miles)
Drive back to the coast before turning west to Grand Metis and the famous Jardins De Metis. One of ’s most extravagant and exquisite great gardens, it is also a national historic site and extends for over 17 acres. Also of interest is a maritime museum at Pointe-Au-Pierre. Located in the grounds of the second highest lighthouse in Quebec, the whole site is a remarkable witness to maritime's past.

Day 15
Rimouski – Trois Rivieres (250 miles)
Your route today takes you back towards Montreal . The road hugs the southern shore of the St Lawrence as you pass through the townships of Trois-Pistoles and Riviere Du Loup. As you pass through the Kamouraska area admire the lovely heritage homes as well as the views to the rugged shore o­n the opposite bank of the river. Cross the St Lawrence at Trois Rivieres , where you will spend your final night.

Day 16
Trois Rivieres – Montreal (90 miles)
A leisurely drive to Montreal and the airport. You will be driving along a road that dates back to the early eighteenth century as it links Montreal with Trois Rivieres and Quebec – the three largest towns in New France . Many of the villages o­n your route seem to be held in aspic, with their lovingly preserved rural architecture. On arrival at Montreal Airport, return your hire car and catch your overnight flight to the UK.
