UK - Halifax
Fly from Heathrow to Halifax on a scheduled Air Canada flight. Halifax is the largest city in the region. It is home to 5 universities and several colleges and has the ambience of an old university town; it is also the shopping, business, and entertainment capital. Ships, from the Schooner Bluenose II to naval vessels, can still be seen in the magnificent harbour, but old warehouses and shipfitters shops have become the heart of a tourist centre along the waterside.

Day 2
Halifax - Liverpool (160 km)
Visit Peggy's Cove, Canada's most-photographed fishing village, or Lunenburg, a historic village on the coast, with its galleries with Inuit (Eskimo) and folk art. Walk the white sand beaches, sunbathe, or visit the site of the world's greatest pirate treasure hunt as you follow the seaside before a night in the forest on the banks of the Mersey River.

Day 3
Liverpool - Digby/Saint John (150 km)
In the morning, you can visit Kejimkujik National Park before you board your afternoon ferry for the 3 hours ferry crossing of the Bay of Fundy to Stain John, New Brunswick. If there is only a morning crossing you will board the ferry tomorrow morning and stay overnight in Digby. As home of the world's highest tides, the bay provides opportunities to see amazing changes is just a few hours. Depending on ferry schedule overnight on this day either in Digby or Saint John.

Digby/Saint John - Fredericton (120 km)
Today you follow the Saint John River valley from the Tidal seaport at its mouth, with its "Reversing Falls", to Fredericton, the quiet capital city of New Brunswick.

Day 5
Fredericton - Riviere-du-Loup (375 km)
Crossing the interior of New Brunswick, you return to the Saint John Valley and past covered bridges and fertile farmland. After an option to visit the gorge at Grand Falls, continue to the shores of the St. Lawrence River.

Day 6
Riviere-du-Loup - Ste. Anne-des-Monts (300 km)
You follow the coast, which gradually becomes more rugged as the St. Lawrence River valley enters the Gulf. Attractions include the Ile Verte, the Parc du Bic, and opportunities to watch for whales along the shore.

Ste.-Anne-des-Monts - Perce (290 km)
As you follow the coast of the St. Lawrence down the Gaspe Peninsula, you feel as though you are reaching the end of the world. At the very tip of the peninsula, you come to Forillon National Park, "where the mountains reach the sea".

Perce Area
Explore the park, with its quaint fishing villages, hiking trails, bicycling, and splendid views, or visit Perce, with its famous pierced rock lying offshore, and Bonaventure Island, a famous nesting colony of Gannets. An optional 90-minute cruise takes you to the island.
Day 9
Perce - Dalhousie (250 km)
The scenic highway along the rugged coast of the Baie des Chaleurs leads to the traditional vacation village of Carleton and Miguasha Provincial Park, a fossil site. Returning to New Brunswick, you stay near Sugarloaf Provincial Park.

Dalhousie - Shediac/Sackville (350 km)
Kouchibouguac National Park has the warmest ocean water you will encounter on your trip. Lagoons and salt marshes attract seals and large numbers of wild Canada Geese in season. Shediac, with its warm water beaches, is also known as the “Lobster Capital” of Canada.

Shediac/Sackville - Charlottetown (100 km)
A 13 km long crossing of Northumberland Strait on the new “Confederation Bridge” brings you to Prince Edward Island, with its endless sand beaches, tiny farms, and picturesque country roads. You have time to explore Prince Edward Island National Park, or explore Charlottetown, the tiny capital of the Island, where pioneer politicians met to form Canada.

Charlottetown - Margaree (350 km)
Visit Charlottetown, the tiny capital of Prince Edward Island, where pioneer politicians met to form the country of Canada. Then a 75-minute ferry crossing returns you to Nova Scotia. River estuaries in this region are rich with fish, and these attract large numbers of Ospreys, which can often be seen diving for fish. Cormorant nests can be observed from the roadside. Rolling hills lead to the wilder scenery of Cape Breton Island.

Margaree - Sydney (300 km)
Visitors can take in a morning whale-watching cruise before enjoying the drive around the Cabot Trail, one of east Canada's most popular scenic drives. The road twists through the forested hills and drops dramatically to the sea.

Sydney - Charlos Cove/Liscomb (300 km)
A side trip leads to the Fortress of Louisbourg - Canada's largest National Historic Park, and the strongest French fortress ever built in the Americas. Between the first of June and the end of September, costumed "animators" live in the fortress, making it come alive as it was in the summer of 1744.

Liscomb/Charlos Cove - Halifax - UK (200 km)
The "Marine Drive" leads through the forest at the head of the harbours and over low hills. Many excellent ocean views are available from small side roads to the shore. Smoked salmon (they can be taken home), mackerel, and eels can be purchased in the area. Return your hire car to the airport in good time for your overnight flight to the UK.
