Days 1/2
UK to Toronto

Your Canada holiday starts with a departure from London Heathrow on Air Canada flight to Toronto. On arrival transfer by private sedan to your centrally situated hotel. The rest of your time is at leisure.
Overnights(2): Toronto - Courtyard by Marriott

Day 3
Toronto - Huntsville
(133 miles)
Collect your hire car and head north to Huntsville. This small township owes its development to the lumber industry in the nearby Algonquin Park. A visit to Muskoka Pioneer Village is recommended where you enter through a turn-of-the-20th-century Muskoka museum to a 90-acre outdoor site encompassing Cann Lake and nature trails. Life in the late 1800s is historically recreated with genuine settlement dwellings from the Huntsville area and where costumed narrators demonstrate pioneer life.
Overnights(2): Huntsville - Hidden Valley Resort

Day 4
Huntsville/Algonquin Provincial Park

This vast wilderness was opened up by the pioneer loggers of the nineteenth century. Living in remote, primitive camps, they felled and squared the giant pine, and when spring came, floated them down swollen rivers to the Ottawa River and the outside world. Algonquin was established in 1893, not to stop logging but to establish a wildlife sanctuary, and to protect the headwaters of the five major rivers, which flow from the Park. Today it is renowned for its myriad lakes and network of hiking trails.

Days 5/6
Huntsville - Ottawa
(255 miles)
Heading east, today’s route takes you back through Algonquin Park. Perhaps visit the Logging Museum, located at the eastern gate to the park, near Whitney, where the fascinating story of logging is brought to life. Cross the Ottawa River at Pembroke to enter Quebec Province. Before entering Ottawa, it’s worth taking a detour into Gatineau Park to view the stunning scenery.
Overnights(2): Ottawa  - Hotel Indigo

Day 7
Ottawa - Tremblant (
96 miles)
The Capital of Canada, Ottawa is an architecturally stunning city with a unique combination of urban and rural experiences. The city’s museums, heritage buildings, parks, (Ottawa’s springtime tulips are a sight to behold) and monuments paint a vivid picture of Ottawa’s colourful past while also allowing a glimpse of its future. Visit the Notre-Dame Basilica, Ottawa’s oldest surviving church with its famous collection of statues, stroll the shopping malls, and take a trip on the Rideau Canal as it meanders through this historic city. The RCMP Musical Ride Stables and Visitor Centre is also well worth a visit. Heading northeast, drive into the glorious Laurentian Mountains. The rolling hills and rounded mountains of the Laurentian Shield are among the oldest in the world, worn down by wind and water over the eons.
Overnights(2): Mont Tremblant - Country Inn & Suites

Day 8
Tremblant
The facilities in the village include golf, mountain biking and hiking. There are numerous trails leading into Mont Tremblant Park, which are worth exploring. Wildlife abounds and the whole area is well known by ornithologists. Loon lovers, in particular, know that the lakes are home to thousands of this native waterfowl that gives its name to the Canadian dollar coin. Excellent divers and swimmers, the birds are unable to walk on land, which makes nesting a trial, and they're identified by a distinctive call that has been described as an extended mournful giggle – once heard, never forgotten.

Days 9/10
Tremblant - Montreal
(78 miles)
A short drive southeast takes you to Montreal. Situated on an island in the middle of the St Lawrence River, Montreal has been referred to as the ‘Paris of North America’, its history a rich backdrop to its vibrant multicultural life. Montreal has numerous festivals, street fairs and innumerable terrace cafés where locals and visitors alike gather to socialize. The lookout on top of Mount Royal presents a superb panorama of the city and the Underground City, linking many buildings and malls, is a shopper's paradise. The Old Port has spectacular views of the St Lawrence, the renowned interactive Montreal iSci Centre and a beautiful waterfront park.
Overnights(2): Montreal - Le Nouvel Hotel & Spa

Day 11
Montreal - Quebec City
(159 miles)
Travelling along the northern shore of the St Lawrence your route takes you further into the French-speaking province of Quebec. Quebec City, located on a spectacular promontory that towers above the St Lawrence, is a UNESCO world heritage site.
Overnights(2): Quebec City - Hotel Chateau Laurier

Day 12
Quebec City
Quebec City is the capital of the province of Quebec and the only walled city in North America. Full of historic old world charm and with a wonderful “joie de vivre” atmosphere, the city is located on the north shore of the St Lawrence River. Impressive views of the old port and city can be had from the Old Port Interpretation Centre. Visit the Old Fort, or take a horse drawn carriage ride down the cobbled streets of Old Quebec City with its quaint shops, bistros, and market squares.

Day 13
Quebec City – Saint Alexis-Des-Monts
(126 miles)
Ais crossed before heading through Trois-Rivières to Saint Alexis-Des-Monts.  drive along the south shore of the St. Lawrence leads to Laviolette Bridge, the only bridge to span the St. Lawrence River between the cities of Québec and Montréal, which
Overnights(2): Saint Alexis-Des-Monts - Sacacomie Lodge

Day 14
Saint Alexis-Des-Monts

Located in the heart of the forest and bordering the Mastigouche wildlife reserve, the resort overlooks a majestic lake whose shore extends for over twenty-five miles. There are numerous well-marked trails into the forest for walking or mountain biking as well as access to a private beach. Enjoy canoeing and kayaking on the lake – or just enjoy the glorious scenery from the balconies.

Day 15
Saint Alexis-Des-Monts - Kingston
(263 miles)
Today’s drive takes you from the forests and sheltered lakes across the provincial border into rural ontario. The suggested route passes Upper Canada Village, located just off Highway 401. This award winning museum recreates daily aspects of life in a mid 19th century rural community and it is well worth spending some time exploring the recreated village and its associated rural industries. Continue along the north shore of the St Lawrence to Kingston. Ontario's oldest city, Kingston was the first capital of the united Upper and Lower Canada before the National Seat of Government was moved to Ottawa in the 1840s.
Overnight(1): Kingston - Radisson Hotel

Day 16
Kingston - Niagara Falls
(278 miles)
Today drive through the orchards and vineyards of the Niagara Peninsula to discover what has been described as ‘one of the prettiest towns in Canada’, Niagara on The Lake. Drive along the Niagara Parkway to reach one of the Seven Wonders of the New World – Niagara Falls. Rightly regarded as one of nature’s most impressive spectacles, Niagara Falls leaves an indelible memory of power and sound. Take a trip on the famous Maid of the Mist boat to the foot of the thundering falls (waterproofs are provided, but expect to get wet!). For a very different view of the might and majesty you can walk below and behind the falls or perhaps take a helicopter flight over the area for a breath-taking panorama of both the Horseshoe and American Falls.
Overnight(1): Niagara Falls - Sheraton on the Falls

Day 17
Niagara Falls - Toronto
(80 miles)
Enjoy some last minute sightseeing and shopping before returning your car to Toronto Airport and your overnight flight back to the UK.
